Re: [Gastric_Bypass_Family] Anger Issues

2007-06-30 18:26:30

i have acquired new hobbies. i exercise in place of being sad/angry. i get
into the gym or i go the motocross track and we ride our quads there and let me
tell ya, that is a workout in itself. i'm usually sore for 2-3 days after we
ride, but that means i'm using muscles i haven't been using a lot! it's so nice
to go riding, because it takes my mind off of everything else. i have to
concentrate while i ride, so there is no time to think of anything else. when
you go over a jump and are 6 feet in the air you are pretty much pre-occupied
with the feeling of flying and then the concern of landing...lol. Find a hobby
and substitute exercise for whatever you can, it will benefit you in the long
run.
good luck.

I just found out today that my insurance will not cover the surgery at all because it is excluded. I have to now talk to our benefits coordinator who is covered to her head because it's open enrollment which means she won't be free to check into this until at least October or November!

I am just sick.

Hey Joy,
You know what I craved and still do...Olives! Gosh I'd drink the
juice for flavor before I could eat them. Now I go through a jar
every week. My husband can't stand them so I am alway brushing my
teeth afterwards or I hear his complaints...LOL!!! Its so strange
how after surgery all I wanted was flavor and tried to get it from
anything I could without causing any problems. Pickles...gosh I
love them too...LOL!!

Re: Frustrated--atkins diet

2007-06-29 17:20:54

I did the atkins diet at one time. You do lose weight really fast
for the first couple of weeks cause you lose water weight...all I
did was pee for a week lol After that though, my weight loss
dropped to 5 pounds a month for 3 months and then nothing. It is an
extremely difficult diet to stick with...but for 2 weeks....the only
criteria on it is to eat few carbs...no fruit, no sugar, no white
starches...you can eat veggies but be careful with low fat dressings
as they contain more carbs than reg (go figure) I couldn't lose
weight if I ate any carbs at all so it didn't take long for me to go
off this diet. It is a good diet for quick weight loss, but is hard
on your body in the long run. Good luck.

Hello Everyone

I am new to the group. I too am preparing for surgery. I got off
track a bit but am still determined to do this. I am ready for a life-
style change. I have found it very difficult to get to support group
meetings so I thought I would try this until my schedule clears.
I welcome any words of wisdom and advise.

Okay, I just found out that Centennial can't do my surgery because they don't accept my insurance plan. I have to start all over again, this time with Vanderbilt. I must admit that being denied made me want to sit and eat something. Then I thought if I'm going to do this I can't let myself be upset to the point of eating. So I drank so water and left a message with the woman at Vanderbilt asking for an application pack. Then I ran to the bathroom because I've drank a ton of water. Oh and then I went and got my slim-fast.

Here's to starting over!

Mary,
My mom gave me some good advice about trying to get you "other' body parts
take in. I get these aful areas under my tummy that itch and hurt and that
feel kind of slimey sticky ( this feels SOOOO wierd talking about this and
knowing most of you know just what I am talking about), if this goes down
into the folds of your thighs leave it till it is really awful and have your
pastics person take a photo of it and have him tell them all the nasty
things that this can lead to. This has to get really bad so it goes as far
down your legs as possible. I should not have a problem cultivating this
when the time arises but to recover it will mean a long soak and gental soap
and a week end on my bed with the fan on tummy up and a fan right on to die
it.

Re: [CMC-WLS] Excited!!!!!!!

2007-06-26 02:58:07

Congratulations Frankie! Hey, can you tell me at what point do they start counting towards your 6 months on a medically supervised diet? The first time I talked to my doctor about dieting was back in May I think but I didn't seriously try anything other than starvation. I also saw her at the end of June (my weight was way up) and am due to see her again within the next two weeks. I think that if I tell her that I started dieting again on Monday she'll take my word for it. What I'm wondering though is should I have waited until I heard something before I started? I don't want to make this any longer than it has to be.

This week I officially began trying to drop some weight on my own. I am still down 5lbs (that came from the starvation approach) but that's nothing for me since it was do to not eating at all. So, I decided that I would try to do Slim-Fast since I'll be on an all liquid diet after the surgery. I'm not doing all liquids now but as someone stated earlier, this will help get me used to the idea of drinking all my meals. It isn't that bad. I even got a meal plan on the website and it changes every week so I don't even have to think that hard about what to eat and when. Now if I could just get my butt in gear and exercise I'll be hitting all my marks!

elephatis before i had the surgery. saggy city! it
was aweful, just ask the doc if you had it done while
your were in surgery with the tumy tuck, since the
room is booked and most of it is paid for, how much
extra would it be for him to do that procedure as
well. I got them to give me a good deal casue i got
it done all in one day, and most of the stuff was
already paid for. They book you for like 2.5 hours for
the tummy alone, so if they can get the legs done
too, then the cost shold be very minimal, 1500 to 2500
tops... jsut make sure he has experience with thighs
and you SEE some of his work ok!!! oh and the skin
above the belly button wont really show much after
the surgery, only when ya eat... its wierd, but it
sort of stretches...

I feel like it'll help minimize the adjustment, if I have as much of an idea as possible, what the "afterlife" is going to be like. That's my hope anyway. I'll probably have Dr. Dyer as a surgeon..
Social eating situations are tough. As time goes along and you're feeling better, I'm sure you'll develop the resolve you're going to need. I think with the aftercare program offered at CMC, it will go a long way in helping us develop the strength we're going to need.

Nice to meet you. I would LOVE to meet you in Bowling Green

Barb!!) that had the surgery 3 yrs ago almost (Dr. Dyer, I think) who

morning. So I would love to payback some of that support that she
offered me to someone else. So just let me know.
I've encountered some "firsts" these past 10 days and have survived.
I'm sure it's something everybody has to go through. I've now been to
three different events where there was a meal and I wasn't able to
participate in the eating. But I've quickly learned that most people
eat fast and the moments of the food smelling so good and being
tempted to eat only lasts for a few short minutes. The one today (a
lunch/work meeting) seemed to be the easiest so hopefully that's a
good sign! And I just keep reminding myself that I can at some point
eat at some of these things. I'm just trying to set my mind to accept
that I'll just need to eat a few bites and be okay with that and not
feel like I have to eat the whole portion and not feel deprived. As I
once read a quote from an inspirational speaker that lost alot of
weight himself he said just rememeber "it's not your last meal! Most
of us will have the opportunity to eat again in 4-5 hrs." I'm not
sure why I never "got" that before! LOL!

tips for anyone thinking about plastic surgery

2007-06-22 11:55:44

One important thing, be sure the doc you are using has had LOTS of
gastric bypass patients. I thought my doc was well known in town,
come to find out i didnt check him out enough. I felt like he didnt
take good enough care of me, did a horrible job on my thighs... my
breasts i told him to make a full b to a small c, he made barely an
A. And my tummy he did pretty well, but there was a few things i wish
he would have warned me about... this is kind of a personal thing,
but i wish SOMEONE would have told me, so i will tell you guys...
When they do the tummy tuck, my doc took from my belly button down
to right above my pubic area. So the area above my belly button if i
eat too much, looks a bit chubby, its wierd, its like a bubble after
meals, which i hate that...its goes flat when i am not eating. now
here comes the personal part. Needless to say when i was 301 pounds,
i had weight gain appartnly everywhere, including the pubic area.
Well when they took all that extra skin off my thighs and tummy and
boobs it was great, however, i got this EXTRA skin in that area
which looks really wierd. IT's kind of hard to explain, and you dont
beelive it till ya see it, but its almost like having an extra large
mound with a litte body i that makes sense. It is the pits, and now
that all the surgery is done, its too late for me to have anything
done about it. Had I realised this would be an issue, i would have
disucssed it before the surgery and found out my options. My ins
only paid for the tummy, so i had to pay for the breasts and thighs,
but we did all three on the same day, 6 horus with 2 surgeons, it
was a long day with alot of surgery. but it saved me alot of money.
I only paid 5 grand for my part. well if anyone has any questions on
the plastic surgery, let me know. It was harder than i thought and
the recooperation was longer than i expected, but i have to admit, i
look pretty good at least with my clothes on lOl i look like
frankenstiens bride neked with all my scars!!!! :)

Hi Lee and some "first" survivals for me

2007-06-22 00:56:11

Hi Lee!
Nice to meet you. I would LOVE to meet you in Bowling Green
sometime. Just let me know, okay? I have a good friend (thanks
Barb!!) that had the surgery 3 yrs ago almost (Dr. Dyer, I think) who
has been SO supportive to me throughout this process and even made
the trip to Nashville to see me in the hospital the following
LOL!

Hey Fran,
I am so excited for you finally getting that date of "rebirth"!!
Gosh it seems like such a long time ago you were writing me wishing
me well during my surgery! I am so glad we met up that way and you
have a loving place in my heart for taking the time to write. I am
sure you will be just fine and of course when your back on your feet
things will be much better and help is always needed. I am not too
sure how many moderators a group can have but I am sure they will
need help as we are a growing "family"!!
Hugs and love, Linda in AL.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY. I ALREADY HAVE EXPERIENCED THE "SMALL CHILD"

FINDING THAT I LIKE THE PACE OF LOSS OF WEIGHT. IT IS DEFINITELY A
TOTAL CHANGE OF LIFESTYLE. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT. :-)--- In CMC-

Linda,
After surgery, March 7th give me a little time to get on my feet and
God willing that won't be too long...you can count me in to help. I
would like to give back what was so freely given to me by this group.

Welcome to the group. I am preop. Thank you for your post about your progress! Keep us posted!

God bless,

Re: [CMC-WLS] Thanks for the welcome!

2007-06-21 04:20:43

Hi Bonita,

My name is Lee. I'm a pre-op and beginning to get the first wave of paper work filled out. I've been following messages for this group a day or so. I couldn't help noticing you're from Bowling Green. I live on Lake Malone, which is about 20 miles north of Russellville. I usually come to Bowling Green once a month or so, maybe we'll get to meet at some point.

I'm hoping to begin the groups as soon as possible. I keep thinking the more familiar I am with the "afterlife", the easier adjustment I'll have. I'm very glad to hear you are doing so well. It's very encouraging to me. Thank you for posting. I'll be reading.

Re: [CMC-WLS] New Member "hello"

2007-06-20 18:37:51

Hi ... you are really doing great and welcome to the losing side. I also had Dr Olsen and think he is the greatest. I had my surgery on August 16, 2004. I lost 108 lbs by

my 9th month. That is when I started making some bad choices and have now regained a little over 20 lbs of it. I wish I had never pushed the envelope and found

out some of the things I could eat. Like a "small child" I did. Nothing ever makes me sick and I really wish it would.

I am trying to get back on track now so to all the newbies stay strong. The new

lifestyle is so great and even the 20 lbs has slowed me down and brought back some

of my health problems. The surgery is SO worth it but it is only a tool. Until they

come up with a "brain" surgery then I still have to make wise choices.

Again welcome and congrats to you.

Wanda

Thanks for the welcome!

2007-06-20 09:07:34

Thanks for the kind welcome everybody! I actually live in Bowling
Green, KY but am only an hour or a little over from Nashville. I fully
intend to be a part of the support groups, etc. REAL soon. I remember
having attended those as required by my insurance prior to surgery and
hearing all of the success stories and thinking "if only that were
me!". Well, now it will be me!! Support is important in any of life's
ventures that we undertake, much less WLS. So I may get an award for
perfect attendance!!! LOL!!! No, our dd is in her senior year of high
school marching band so this fall will be very busy but I do plan on
allowing some "me" time for things like the support groups, etc. I
can't believe I'm finally on the loosing side!! I remember the last
support group meeting I went to (Dr. Houston, my surgeon, was the
speaker that night) and I remember thinking "if it could only be
tomorrow! I'd willingly volunteer!". And now I'm already two weeks on
the loosing side. So hang in there those of you that are pre-op...it
will happen!!
Have a great night everyone!

New Member "hello"

2007-06-20 04:32:45

HELLO ALL,
I HAVE JUST SIGNED ON TO THIS GROUP TO CHECK OUT HOW OTHERS HAVE DONE
WITH THEIR SURGERY. I HAD THE ROUX EN Y PROCEDURE DONE ON MARCH 29 OF
THIS YEAR. IT HAS MADE SUCH A POSITIVE CHANGE, NOT ONLY IN MY PHYSICAL
HEALTH, BUT, ALSO, IN MY MENTAL APPROACH TO LIFE. I HAVE DR. OLSEN AS
MY SURGEON AND HAVE BEEN WELL PLEASED. I HAVE HAD NO COMPLICATIONS AND
HAVE LOST 60 POUNDS IN 4 MONTHS. I CAN SEE SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN MY
QUALITY OF LIFE. I DO FIND THE URGES OF EMOTIONAL EATING ALIVE AND
WELL, BUT, FOR THE MOST PART, AM DEALING OK WITH THEM. I HAVE NOT
THROWN UP, BUT HAVE HAD A FEW INSTANCES OF COMING VERY CLOSE. I HAVE
THE MOST TROUBLE WITH DOING MY WALKING REGULARLY. WHEN I WALK, I ADD A
LITTLE EACH TIME, BUT IT IS ONLY 3 OR 4 TIMES A WEEK. THAT WOULD BE THE
PROCRASTINATOR IN ME -ALSO ALIVE AND WELL. I HAVE ENJOYED LOOKING
THROUGH SOME OF THE FILES. IT IS INTERESTING TO SEE OTHERS WHO ARE
GOING THROUGH A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE AS I. JUST WANTED TO SAY, "HI" AND
GET ON BOARD.

I haven't sipped water in forever....... Actually though I prefer
drinking water from the water bottle than a glass. I also prefer to
drink water at room temperature than cold. I find I can drink more
of it that way. Everyone is different though.

2007-06-19 17:20:45

Hi Terri,

You are a rare one in our group. Many of us fall into old habits and begin to gain again. But, your situation is important to address.

Have you seen your surgeon lately or discussed this with your PCP? It is very important for you to keep monitoring your lab work and keep the proper nutition and supplements.

Did you have surgery at Centennial? If so, You can return once a year to your surgeon and also see a dietician as well as an exercise physiologist for no fee. The support groups are also free and open to public.

I am also available for a very small fee for individual counseling if you need to see someone.

Please take care of yourself. dd

Hey all. Good morning. I have a question for those of you who are a
year or more out. I was wondering if you can ever "drink" water
again without sipping it? I can take a bigger amount of water now
at 6 months out. But since the weather here is so cold and the heat
is on like 85, when I wake up in the morning, I just want to "down"
a glass of water. Will that ever be a possiblity or do we sip
forever? Thanks for all your help. It's the support here that we
need to keep going!!

Then I missed my bus to my home in Morton by 7 minutes....darn. I had a 4 hrs. wait to get the next one. I sure have a better understanding of the word...PATIENCE : ))

I had a 'little' mix-up at Dr. Lewis's office on Tues. as my appt. for some reason wasn't listed. I had really been feeling bad since food was getting stuck. I was dehydrated. I went to Dr. H's office and he saw me and immediately admitted me to get IV's started. I had the procedure the following day....boy, I sure felt good after all of those IV's with vitamins being pumped into me. I was ready for a marathon...yeah, right.

Thanks for the calls... As always, I appreciate your kindness. Hey, I am sooooo proud when you call me a "LOSER"...yes, the thought just tickles my toes!!!!

Hi Janie.....right now I am struggling, I have regained weight but I am two years out and I am still 85 lbs lighter than I was when I had the surgery.

As far as when you get over the fear of failing I will let you know when I find out lol.

I am not sorry I had the surgery and I have been on an incredible journey. I am not

taking all the medicine that I had been on for at least 20 years. Do I miss the food?

Yeah on a really bad day there are comfort foods I miss. I really need to figure out

now how to have my feelings and not eat over them. To feel the feeling, not judge it and move on.

Good luck in your journey. Its a tough decision and only you can make it.

You guys are right!

2007-06-15 15:16:47

OKOKOK! I am beginning to see the rationale behind a BB! You guys are right. When I really look at it, it's not the surgery necessarily, especially the pain that scares me. I'm scared of failing. I have a really crummy record of failing at diets, but I can't imagine failing when you're whole insides are rearranged!!!! I think about my wedding photos and how I looked then. That's what I want again, actually even smaller which I can't imagine. But I want that rebirth. Yes, I remember the birth of my children. Unfortunately at times, they remind me of that pain!!!!!! LOL! I do want to be around for my kids and for my grandchildren. I am so tired of being so tired.

Right now, I am on my 6 month plan and have done OK the last few days. wish I could go ahead and have the surgery now. I'm not perfect and I have to accept that it's not going to be perfect. CJ, it's as you said this doesn't mean that you are going to be perfect. No one can be perfect at this. It's learning all the time. I have to let go of my failures at dieting and look ahead. I just don't know how to do that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks again for your encouragement and your advice.

Rebirthing!

That is so great John I would imagine having a 16 year old daughter will keep you

young for many years to come. My quality of life was so bad when I decided to

have the surgery that I really did not care to live another year. I too felt like it was

my only hope. I have regained some weight but still know I can care for myself

even at my current weight and I have the tool to keep losing. Before the surgery

it did not matter what I did. I would lose 2 lbs only to gain 10. Hope you enjoy

everyday you have with your daughter.

Hi Group - From one of the moderators

2007-06-14 18:55:51

Hi all - Sorry we haven't been on in a very long time, but I was
very happy to hear from Linda and she told me about the spam that
the group has been subjected to. My apologies. The owner Di is
working on trying to remember her password and then we will be
adding a few new moderators on to the group, Linda (iamll being one
of the main ones). She has been doing a great job keeping the group
going and also offers great information for the pre and post-ops.
I have gone back through and see that luckily there hasn't been much
spam at all, but I did see the guy from India who wrote once and the
one about the grocery coupons. Those things happen all the time
because even when we ban them they just come back under another ID.
I was just glad to see that it's not a frequent thing and that the
group is still providing wonderful and beneficial and supportive
information for all. That's what it was created for. Everyone
needs support no matter what stage they are at in the process.
I am 2 1/2 years out and trust me it hasn't been a cake walk for
me. I had many strictures and developed an ulcer and I still throw
up from time to time. I don't care what negative things have
occurred because I would do the surgery again 1000 times over if I
had to. It has changed my life in such a positive way. I am still
wanting to do a full body lift but that will come in time. I'm
hoping to have it December 2005.
Please feel free to email me directly if you have any questions or
concerns. And I want to personally thank Linda from AL for all her
help and all the rest of you for being so supportive. Linda has
given me some names of those she feels will be good moderators and I
trust her judgement. This should be done by the middle of next week
at the latest.
Thanks again for keeping this group going strong.
Big hugs

Very well said, Wanda.
And don't forget all of those little things they didn't tell you were side
effects of the surgery. We all have them. Things like constipation, if you are
not very, very careful... Hernias on the scar line... we all have these little
things, but we chose the "easy way out." I would not change it for the world. I
am now 68 years old. I had my surgery when I was two days from turning 65. My

Re: [CMC-WLS] My friend who just had surgery

2007-06-13 03:10:06

Hi Janie...everyone has a different experience. i did not have any problems. There is some pain and discomfort after the surgery but it is major surgery. I had a hysterectomy and my gallbladder removed several years back and this surgery was

a walk in the park compared to either of them. I had some infection around one of

my drains the first week I was home. Dr Olsen pulled it out a day early put me on

antibiotics and that was it. I was very careful before and after to get plenty of bluids.

I also tried real hard to do the breathing exercises but was not as good with that.

I walked several times a day because it was just more comfortable to get up and

move around. I was 57 when I had the surgery.

I hope your friend gets to feeling better. I was very tired for several weeks after the

surgery but I am always very tired because of my fibromyalgia.

You are in my prayers and I will say a prayer for her as well.

I just got this from a nurse in the grads group Please read it !!! I had thought it was just me but About a year and a half after my surgery when I was going over my labs after they had given me a copy while I was waiting to see the Dr and I noticed the fall in vitamin A so I asked the Dr when he came in and he said yes indeed it was dropping so I asked did I need to start supplementing A and he said yes and Dry form NOT Oil . I started to supplement it too and I also had another article but have misplaced it but this lady had GBS and went blind and they found it was Vitamin A deficient in A once the DR got it raised her sight came back and I also saw it on the today show so you might search their archives and find it . Another example why we all need lab copies and make a data base to keep up easier .Anyone that is preop needs to have test run by their PCP and then you know where you are now so it can be compared labs later . My friend who just had surgery

2007-06-12 12:48:02

My friend just had surgery last Thursday and has had a rough time over
the weekend. She has a lot of fluid and gained 17lbs in the hospital.
She became dehydrated so they gave her IV fluids. All the fluid went
into her belly. She's miserable. I'm hoping that she's better today.
CJ, you told me that I would feel like I had really made a mistake
right after surgery due to how you feel. My friend validated that for
me!!!
Does everyone go through this rough patch right after surgery???
Thanks,
Janie

I used to be a hassle to have to ask for an extension. For some
reason I refused to buy one of my own. Also these little jets they
use these days were miserable to sit it next to the windows. Any way
both ways I used a regular seatbelt and didnt have to pull myself as
hard to one side as I could so I wouldn't crowd my seat mate any more

Yipee!!
I am 5 months out and still cannot eat much and hotel food sucks so
just bought a small container of cottage cheese every evening -
sprinkled on dried fruits and dinner was great. Ate a premium protein

protein and had a great time. I have found that at this stage I can
eat romain lettuce and spinach in salads, but iceberg makes me sicker

Re: Viactiv Calcium Tablets

2007-06-10 01:53:18

Andrea, My doctor lets us take Viactiv unless you are having a
problem absorbing calcium then he switches to calcium citrate. I
tried calcium citrate and had problems with the size of the pill,
got wicked stomach aches and if I had stayed on it I know I would
have stopped taking calcium. So I had a long discuss with the
doctor and he said there is little difference between the two.
But remember our motto: All doctors do things differently.

Hey everyone. Well, I am definately staying inside today. I went out
two days in a row to see one of the teachers from work at the
hospital. She had her surgery on Tuesday and last night when we
dropped stuff off at her house, she was packing boxes because she is
moving into a new house on base. I wanted to shake her!! When I saw
her at the hospital, I almost fell over. She looked like she never
had surgery. On Wednesday(THE DAY AFTER SURGERY) she took a shower
by herself. Good Lord I feel like a failure...haha. Thanks to
everyone for the compliments, it sure makes us feel good to hear
them. Just when I think that I am not doing enough, someone at work
will say, oh my gosh you are getting so skinny and I will
think...hmmm.. maybe I do look pretty good...haha. Hey Gloria, I am
in Minot, North Dakota. Almost as far north as you can get without
being in Canada. My hubby is military and we are stationed here.
THis is our first real winter and I am ready to move...haha. Linda,
thanks for the news on Di. I must have missed what was happening
with her but either way, she is in my prayers now. She was the
inspiration that got me started. I saw her website and her profile

Thanks for your input about your birth control. It is starting to
worry me. Like I said, I try to use double protection. I do want
another child and I may be selfish for saying this but I want some
me time. I want time to enjoy my body and my new "bad self" as my
hubby says...haha. At first I thought it was the pills, so she put
me on the patch. And then I thought maybe it's because the patch is
more effective for people under 200 pounds. But I am now at 200
exact and it is still coming on strong. My doc says to give it 3
months so I have another month to go. Please let me know if you find
out anything. I will take any advice!! Have a great weekend!!

Re: [Gastric_Bypass_Family] Viactiv Calcium Tablets

2007-06-08 19:54:09

Andrea,
I was told by my surgeon and several others that we're supposed to use only
Calcium Citrate. Since we don't obsorb nutrients like we used to only the
calcium citrate works best for our new systems. You might want to check with
your doctor. I'm right now taking 1200 mg of Citracal daily. Take care and
good luck.

Viactiv Calcium Tablets

2007-06-08 13:09:40

I was just wondering if it was ok to take Viactiv regular
tablets as my
calcium supplement because it has sugar in it. I thought we
were
supposed to stay away from sugar? I found a generic version
of them
without sugar added, but I can only find the bulk jug with
sugar in it.
Anyone take these?

Pre-op visit gives some scary details - Anna

2007-06-07 07:12:33

I didn't have a NG tube either or a ventilator. Having sleep apnea at the
time they did have me take my own CPAP machine. They put it on me right after
surgery and I continued to wear it til the next day. Other than that I
didn't have anything but the IV and a cathater (which I didn't even know I was
getting or had til I was up and around the next day). That was nothing either
for them to take out. But like so many have said doctors are different and
they must have reasons for what they do. Take care and good luck.

It's a nasal gastric tube. It drains off the fluids from your
stomach. It's a little uncomfortable but no big deal. It feels
weird when they take it out though.

My surgery was only about 1 1/2 hours. Why is your so long? I was

stay on the oxygen but I took it off becuase it dried my sinuses
out. I was sort of miserable postop. All I can say is sleep and
when you aren't sleeping, walk. Walk all you can. Don't get
frustrated because each day will get easier and better. Oh yeah,
don't forget your chapstick. I didn't take it and I as miserable!

Hi Pat,
I feel for you, I went through a similar situation here in Ohio. My surgeon
cancelled my WLS surgery the day of the surgery due to his too high
malpractice insurance. Ohio too is losing their good surgeons to other states
for
the same reasons. I've already lost 3 specialists to it. You might want to
