Need help and advice

2008-04-30 04:35:08

Hi Group,
My name is Becky and I have just joined this group. I was referred
by my family doctor to have the gastric bypass surgery done and I
was hoping I could get some information. I have BCBS insurance and
I know they cover the surgery if I meet all of the requirements, and
I believe I do. I am waiting to hear back from the surgeon's office
to set up an appointment for a consultation.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am 32 and have always been
overweight. I am 5'7 and weigh 295 pounds. This is an all time
high for me. I do not have any health problems, except for the
commom back and knee pains, and I have been referred to a sleep
clinic because my OB/GYN thinks I may have sleep apnea. But I'm not
sure on that one. Nothing in my medical history though. I was
hoping someone could tell me what all if involved in the pre-op
stage. I have heard you have to have the past 5 years of your diet
history. This is something that BCBS requires. My question is, I
have always tried dieting and exercise on my own. I do not have
any "proof" of this. Will the insurance company require that I have
tried Jenny Craig or Weight watchers? I have never been able to
afford to join these groups. I have tried the low fat, low carb,
slimfast, metabolite, exercise, aerobics, Myrtle Beach diet, Magic
Herb, grapefruit and several others. I am really worried about this
and since I have not even talked to the surgeon yet, I am not sure
what they are expecting. Can someone help me understand exactly
what it is they are going to be looking for and if anyone can give
me any advice at all about what I need to do or should do before I
see the surgeon (or after) PLEASE let me know! Thank you so much
for your help and sorry for such a long post. If you want to email
me privately that is fine also. I have to have this surgery. If I
don't get approved with my insurance, I can never afford to pay it
out of my own pocket. If I don't have this surgery, I probably will
not be around to see my kids grow up. And I know I will not see my
Grandkids. Please give me any advice that you can.
Thanks again for all of your help!
Becky

The Dr that suggested this to you might be able to write a note stating that
you have tried to loose weight under his care .. mine did that for me.
A lot of insurance places want to see something that you have tried to loose
weight by a DR's care. And you can list all the diets you have tried

I don't know about the protien shakes but with the yeast you can add it as
you are ready to drink it so it would not lose the benifits. 2 table spoons
is about half of your normal daily protein needs and you can add that
though out the day as you need to eat.
My daughter drinks a yeast shake every morning, 1 cup oj, 1 raw egg, 1
bannanna and 2 table spoon yeast and she says she is not hungery come lunch.
But she does eat so she is not so hungery come dinner. I don't know if it is
low cal but it is low fat and much healthyer than the cerial she normally
eats. She loves the taste and always adds more yeast. I don't really care
for the amount she uses but I can add the normal serving to oj and it tastes
just fine.

Re: Biotin

2008-04-28 01:15:56

I did not start losing my hair till my 5th month after surgery.. but
unfortunatley it lasted for about 10 months... i was VERY upset, the
biotin did help a little, and upping the protien proved a noticable
difference in my hair loss, so start the biotin as soon as you can
and stick with it. This was one little thing that I did not know
before my surgery or anytime actually till it started happenin to
me, so im so glad all of you who are just getting started KNOW about
it. I had no one to tell me, and i was scared to death!!! I am kind
of vain about my hair, it was very thick and beautiful, its not any
more.. i had to cut it short and it never grew back lush like it
was :( however you have to consider what i gained with this surgery,
a whole new life. THat is worth any head of hair, any time... so
putting in in perspective I still would have done it had i known,
just would be been nice to KNOW before hand!!
...I use biotin and have not lost any hair yet (knock on wood), and
I am 4 months out today. I don't know if it is helping or I just
have not gotten to the point that I will start loosing yet...

'OLD' Habits.....

2008-04-27 07:27:58

I went shopping with a friend yesterday to Macy's and Bergner's Dept.
stores. I knew there would be some good markdowns so I was ready to
shop....I mean really ready!
I am amazed as I STILL go directly to the Women's Dept. I then got
a 'grip' and headed to the Misses. I picked up a faux suede
shirt/jacket in a size XL and put it in my cart. I noticed another
good friend of mine was shopping so she stopped me and we talked.
She looked at the shirt and said gee, that looks big. I hadn't tried
it on but that's what I 'thought' I wore. I proceded to try it on.
IT WAS TOO BIG!!! Oh my gosh, I then 'RAN' to get a size Large and
it fit. I wanted to cry...it just was unbelieveable. I think I was
in 8th grade when I wore a Large.
It was a breathtaking moment for me and I continue to thank God, Dr.
Houston and MEEEEEEE for making this happen! I think we need to give
ourselves more credit for what we've accomplished.

Re: [Gastric_Bypass_Family] Are you a distal RNYer??

2008-04-26 01:10:19

Hello. I am very distal. I am over three years out and had to think about what
life was like before surgery in order to answer you. I have mal absorption now.
I know every one has it to some degree but with me it seems more drastic. Most
of my levels after donating my blood seem to be just at the minimum. So I have
to be real religious in taking my vitamins to keep those levels at a safe level.
I also have to have at least 5 protein drinks a day. My protein absorption
through food isn't very good. But I made the decision to follow these life style
changes. And of course gas and bm can be really stinky, more so then other
surgeries because there is less common channel to digest food properly.
But then we are all different. You may be able to absorb more then me. Just keep
getting your levels checked as your doc advises.
If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact me. It is hard to
remember life before because I am enjoying life now so much more!
Good Luck.

Re: Are you a distal RNYer??

2008-04-25 14:10:43

Hi Laurie,
I am a distal RNYer but I am not sure how much. My post-op life has
been pretty great and comparable to most other RNYers on here. I got
pureed food in the hospital after my leak test was okay and I went
home on soft foods. After my approx 2 week post-op visit to my
surgeon she told me to start regular food (whatever I could tolerate)
but I really had already done that. I can eat most things as long as
I chew chew chew and it is moist. In the beginning I ate a lot of
soups, scrambled eggs with cheese mixed in, mashed potatoes, cream of
wheat. SLowly I added in cold cuts like low-salt/fat ham, turkey,
ground beef and things of that nature. Cheese was my best friend for
awhile and now I like pickles and olives a lot too (LOL).
At 3 months out now I pretty much eat the same stuff just with more
confidence. I dumped a few times, once from fat and a couple from
sugar. Nothing serious but it happens and it is good that it does
cause it keeps you away from stuff. I threw up a couple of times
from not chewing enough and eating too fast but that was also pretty
minor.
I do a protein shake sometimes in the morning and I am going to start
doing that more often because I am not really a brakfast eater. I
take multi-vitamin (Centrum, chromagen, calcium, B-12 sublingual
3x/week, axid for reflux (don't have it but I think you take it for 6
months anyway), actigall (to keep gall stones away for 1st 6 months).
Ask away, I will answer if I can.
Good luck and God Bless,
Presh in NY

Thought this article was good.

2008-04-25 08:20:52

From John Binghams Racing Chronicles.

Tied in Nots:
I recently received an email from a person who wanted to become more active. They wanted to start walking and running and maybe even compete in a few local 5 and 10 k races. They thought that being more active might be a good way to lose some weight and feel better. So far, not a bad plan.
But, they went on, they were not willing to change their eating habits, they were not willing to drink less, and they were not willing to quit smoking. Their question to me was how much activity did I think they would need to overcome the rest of their lifestyle. I didn't know how to answer.
You'd think that this approach would be unusual, but it isn't. I can remember coming in from my early runs and sitting on the sofa and lighting up. It made my son crazy. How could I do that? He would ask. Easy. Like my email friend, in those days I was tied in nots.
I was angry that I was 43 years old and 100 pounds over weight but I was NOT going to change any more than I had to. I was angry that it was getting more and more difficult to walk up steps, or mow the lawn, or wash the car but I was NOT going to stop doing the things I enjoyed. I was angry that I couldn't live an irresponsible lifestyle and still be thin, fit, and healthy.
So, when it finally occurred to me that I would have to be more active, it wasn't as though I relished the idea and jumped in with enthusiasm. Sure, I liked the idea that I was wogging [my combination of waddling and jogging] several days a week. I liked the idea that I was actually running in running shoes. And, I liked the idea that I had a few race t- shirts in my closet.
But, I was not ready to give in to the idea that my life was going to have to change. I was not ready to start thinking like an athlete. I was not ready to be a runner when I wasn't running. I was NOT going to become one of THOSE people.
No not me. I was going to be the one who found the way to be both decadent AND fit. I was going to be the one who could over eat AND over train. I was going to be the one who was NOT giving in to the benefits of being more active. And for the better part of a year, I managed to be both what I had been, and what I was trying to be.
Eventually, though, I began to realize that my priorities were changing. The more miles I had behind me, the more I began to think about the miles ahead of me. The more I ran, the more I was a runner. It became more and more difficult to NOT be an athlete. Not by design, but by default.
And I wasn't all that happy about it at first. Standing at a starting line in sub-freezing temperatures one Saturday morning I found myself questioning my own sanity. Surely there was another way. What happened to the person who drank hot coffee and smoked cigarettes on cold weekend mornings? Where had he gone? Surely he had enough sense to stay inside.
I was not that person anymore. I was a runner. I was one of those people who ran in the cold and rain and the heat and humidity. I was one of those people who wore shorts and tights in public. I was one of those people who stood in line at the grocery store and stretched.
Even now that I have been running for 8 years I'm still amused at all the things I am. But more, I'm amazed at all the things I'm not. I'm not angry any more. I'm not fighting with my own destiny. I am not afraid to find out where my limits are. And I am not afraid to accept those limits.
But more than anything, I am not afraid to change, to learn, to grow, and to look past all the things I can't be to those few that I can.
Waddle on, friends.

Dearest Cathy,
I know what you are feeling these days. I've been a funk all weekened. The weather doesn't help.
I'm sorry you're feeling so "funky". I'm in a funk because I'm frustrated because even if I get approved, I still can't have surgery until March because I have a Statistics class that I have to take for my BSN. I need to take it because I've dropped it twice already and I have to have it for my nursing research class which will start in May.

I can't believe I've let myself get so big! I went shopping today for a pair of black dress pants...I've grown out of all of my clothes! I had to get a 26 in the pants and a 26/28 in the shirt! I'm just SICK! But on the positive side I got them at Catos and I didn't have to pay too much for them. I have only 2 pair of jeans and a couple of shirts I can wear. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it's not as long as it has been till surgery.

Cathy, I'm glad that you shared that all of those feelings of insecurities don't go away with the fat. You've just proven that the surgery isn't a magic bullet to get rid of all of your insecurities and your stinkin' thinkin'. Thanks for bringing me back to reality my friend.

I hope you feel better soon my dear!

Dora,
I'm right there with you, not ashamed or sorry for what I've done. I was more
ashamed for how I had let myself get the way I was than for what I've done to
make my life better. I've been given a second chance at a healthier life and
I've taken ahold with both hands. Your doing great Dora and a true inspiration.

Sorry to hear that you have been in a funk, Cathy. I understand and
believe everything you say. I was in a funk myself last week,
feeling sorry for myself, disgusted that I hadn't done any better
than I have (but, it was all my fault and I know it), but it is true
that we will always have the feelings of insecurity that comes with
obesity. We have to work on those issues as well as learning to not
eat like we did. I have committed to getting back on track and will
need yours and everyones support. I don't post alot, but I do read
and I am going to do more posting. I feel this will really help me.
Hang in there everybody. We all need each other. Together, we can
get through all the little obstacles, and with God, we will get

No shame in GBS

2008-04-19 21:34:29

I agree. I feel no shame whatsoever for having this surgery. It is not
completely my fault that I could not loose the weight. Part of the weight that
we gain is genetic. Some people are predisposed to be heavier than others. I
tried to diet again and again. I look at this surgery as a blessing in my life
not a shameful way out. And as I have said before, the National Institute of
Health released their findings not too long ago that less than 1% of the
morbidly obese can take the weight off and keep it off. I hold my head up and
am proud to tell people what I have done. But that is how I am and how I deal
with it. Not everyone feels the same. Just wanted to put my 2 cents out there.

Linda,
My surgeon and nutritionist tell us to take a multi-vitamin in the morning with
at least 600 calcium and then another multi-vitamin and calcium at night. They
said that since we have bypassed the duodenum we do not absorb like we used to.
Therefore we need to double what we take to be sure to get adaquit nutrion. You
might try upping what you take to help get your levels back in balance.

Tina,
One of the things that you need to watch out for is how much sugar alcohol is in
the things you buy. The sugar free wafers you bought might have been made with
this to lower the sugar in the item. All the new low carb chocolates and what
not are full of sugar alcohol. Sugar alcholo will cause diarrea. So be careful
when you are buying that it is not loaded with it.

Hi Amanda.....

2008-04-18 01:40:10

It's Jillll from Illinois....I just wanted you to know that I will be
thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers as your surgery date
progresses! We are all here for YOU! This is the place where you
want to visit when you need help/have a question/state a concern or
just want to read emails from the LOOOOSERS and LOOOOOSERS TO-BE.
As Sandi stated, there will ALWAYS be negative people in your
life....I chose to be very selective on who I talked to about my
surgery. You are in control!!!!! I had a couple good friends who
said they didn't want me to have it. I just simply said, I have
researched this surgery and this is what I have chosen to do for me.
I even have people who will NOT say a word to me about my
weightloss...like my looks have not changed. I personally think each
of us should surround ourselves with people who care about us as we
care about them!!! That way it's a mutual admiration society if you
know what I mean.
You are in great hands with the Nashville doctors....each of them are
wonderful! God has blessed them with an amazing talent as they have
touched so many lives.
Take care....keep your chin up HIGH. We'll be with you each step of
the way. Wishing you a HEALTHY & MOST HAPPY 2007, Amanda.

husband looks pretty proud too. Great job and thanks
for the inspiration. I'm only a week away to the
losing side, but I can't even imagine what I will look
like when I'm thin. And I have to keep reminding
myself that is why I'm doing this - to get thin and
healthy. Maybe this summer it will be easier to
imagine. Congratulations again!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, we ALL need those every
once in awhile. I am glad to hear you had no problems with your surgery but
hopefully your they can figure out your low sugar issue.
This site is "THE BEST", I really enjoy reading these emails, even if they are
personal matters but we still hae to talk about them. If we don't talk about
them here, I'm sure no one would talk about them at all.
It is so nice to be able to ask questions and get honest answers instead of
"sugar coating" it. Of course, you have to take the good with the bad but
hopefully here most is good, everyone is different so that also makes it hard to
judge how someone is going to come out of this surgery.
Thanks for your help, Germaine in Michigan

feeling I had so I guess it's a feeling we all share at one time or
the other. Poor me was another one....you nailed that one too, my
dear!
Now about you making comments often...I think you are so
knowledgeable and soooooo sweet/caring, but you can comment when and
if you darn well feel like it as far as I am concerned. I bet the
others would agree with me. You can take a 'breather' and
REGROUP...that is exactly what you deserve. That's what I had to
do. It does help.

THIS IS TO THE WHOLE GASTRIC BYPASS FAMILY; I HAVE BEEN ON THIS SITE FOR A
WHILE AND I USUALLY DO NOT GET ON HERE OFTEN AND SAY ANYTHING. I HAVE READ
CONCERNS ABOUT CONSTIPATION AND YOUR IRON PILLS. I HAVE SAID A FEW TIMES ON
HERE HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO MAKE SURE YOUR IRON IS AT THE RIGHT LEVEL AND
CONSTIPATION IS SO MILD COMPARED TO HAVING AN IRON DEFICIENCY. AS SPEAKING
FROM EXPERIENCE BECAUSE I HAVE THIS CONDITION PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL AND
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BLOOD LEVELS AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN. I WAS JUST
RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL YESTERDAY BECAUSE I HAVE IRON DEFICIENCY
SYNDROME. THEY THOUGHT I WAS BLEEDING INTERNALLY BECAUSE OF THE BLOOD LOSS
AND LOW IRON. THANK GOODNESS I AM NOT BLEEDING BUT IT IS CAUSED BY POOR
NUTRITION AND LACK OF TAKING YOUR VITAMINS PROPERLY. WHEN YOU FIRST START
OFF WITH THIS SURGERY YOU ARE ALL UP ON DOING THINGS RIGHT. AFTER FIVE
YEARS YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING OKAY AND YOU KNOW HOW TO GIVE YOURSELF THE
NUTRITION YOU NEED. I SPENT A WEEK IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS
DOING THINGS RIGHT. WRONG. I NEGLECTED MYSELF , ONLY ATE WHEN I FELT LIKE
IT,ETC. I HAD TO HAVE 3 BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS DUE TO MY OWN IGNORANCE. SO
PLEASE, DO IT THE RIGHT WAY, DO NOT STOP TAKING IRON BECAUSE OF THE
CONSTIPATION, YOU ARE ONLY HURTING YOURSELVES. THANK YOU, DIANE IN OHIO

[CMC-WLS] In a FUNK

2008-04-13 00:32:50

Hi Telora
Iam 58 too it is a wonderfull age isn't it. It sounds like your
hospital is the Caddie of WLS hospitals. Wow private room and
dedicated nurses. I was in a university hosp that had a nurse
shortage and they just didn't seem to care anyway. I couldn't wait to
get out of there.
As far as the pain you will wake up before the pain is terrible and
the morphine just takes a couple of min to take effect. Don't bother
taking a lot of stuff to the hosp you won't use it. Do bring chap
stick it is a life saver. I brought books and kniting LOL never even
looked at them.
I have had a terrible time finding a protein suppliment too. I
thought I would get ahead of the game and try them all out pre op but
after surgery I couldn't even stand the smell of them! I would just
gag and gag. Someone here on one of the lists told me to try
Isopure it is pre mixed and comes in a few different flavors. You
can get it at GNC and the vitimin shoppe. It is not cheat anywhhere
from 2.50 to 3.50 a bottle but you just need one bottle a day as
there is 40 gr of protein in each bottle. It tastes like grape
koolaid or orange ect ect. Very thin and grit at all.
Gee I have rambled good luck.

Hi Talora,
Welcome to the group. Everyone is great here. My
surgery is January 27. I am having open RNY. My
surgeon is Dr. Kirkpatrick. My surgery will be at
Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. I'm
having lots of anxiety. My PCP has prescribed
something for anxiety. My husband thinks I'm quite
entertaining when I take it. And the evening isn't as
long for him when I take it. :-) I'm 5'9" and 453 so
alot farther to go, but excited about the journey (for
the most part). I'll be keeping an eye out for your
post when you get home post op. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the welcome.... but I've been here since Jan 8, 2002! WOW that's 5 years now. I'm always looking for new information so I stick around. I find more reading available at Graduate-OSSG group. That's a group for those are a year out or more but anyone can lurk. There are links there to a Protein group, Osteoporosis group, a Fitness group for WLS patients and scads of info in there files. I also like to read Barbara Thompson's Newsletter (http://www.wlscenter.com/NLArchive/oct_1_2006.htm ), and Vitalady's Website at www.vitalady.com.

No matter how far out you are..... you can never stop learning!

Hi Tina,
Thanks for sharing your post-op story. With surgery 8
days away the nerves are a little ragged. It's good to
hear not the good but the bad things as well. I'm
glad you came through everything and doing great now.
Keep up the great job and thanks for all of the
encouraging words you share with all of us.

Introduction.

2008-04-10 12:01:25

I am talora and am pre-op. My date is January 31, 2005. i am going
to have the RNY Lap surgery.Gosh i am so excited and anxious and so
I have started to occupy myself with looking for recipes for the
full liquid diet and also for getting my "jammies", slippers etc.
ready for the big day!!
I am 58, or will be on my surgery date, weigh 275, am 5'9 and still
believe my birth weight had to be 110 as that is the smallest I
remember being LOL. I live in Northern Minnesota where it is
bitterly cold and gets dark early. The town I live in has a
population of 8. LOL. The hospital I am having surgery at is a 34
bed hospital, and 10 of those beds are for the gastric bypass
patients. I went to see the unit today and was totally amazed.
Each room is a private room, nicely decorated and they even have a
place for my partner to sleep over as He isn't able to drive at
night. The nurses on the unit only work on this unit and 3 of them
have already had the surgery. How nice to know that the people
taking care of me really will understand. They explained that I
will be given a demerol pump for pain and that i will just push a
button when the pain starts. I immediately thought about what
happens when i fall asleep and wake up in terrible pain. How long
before i get relief after that first push.
Anyway I am very excited and hope the time flies by so i can sleep
soon.
i saw someone asking about what they can blenderize and went to the
internet and did a search. You might want to take a look at these
sites. Amazingly, liquid diets are far more common than i had
thought.
http://www.widesmiles.org/cleftlinks/WS-414.html
http://www.teklawgirl.biz/Liquid_diet_recipes.htm
This may give you a few ideas.
So far i am having trouble finding a protein drink i can stand. I
did find a protein powder that is flavorless. I will be able to
handle that in cream soups etc. I am not a big fan of milk,
chocolate, and can't stand hot cereal. Oh well, i guess it is time
for this old dog to learn some new tricks.
I am so happy to have found a group. The posts so far have made me
laugh, eased some of my fears, and are helping to keep me from going
insane while i wait. Unfortunately, waiting has never been one of
my strong suits...
Hope the recipe sites help. i can't wait to begin my journey..

Sarah, I had my daughter when I was 39...go for it if you feel you
can!!! She is such a blessing for me and my husband. So much
easier than my boys ever were but that's because I'm older, smarter
(my mother might question that one) and know what's important in
life now. Way to go on your weight loss and good luck getting food

I had open gastric bypass June 2002 - 5'6" weighed 370
Had peniculectomy and severe hernia repair Sept 2003, flat tummy, no belly
button (doctor couldn't save) at 40 yrs old!
I now weigh 160!
But I do flucuate, use to stay around 170 to 175, just recently been having a
bit of trouble with food, feeling stuck (probably cause I didn't chew good) and
getting sick. Always seems to feel like I have drainage blockage. Some days good
with food others a struggle. Big struggle is getting protein but I am going to
try a new protein out called Matrix that is in a purple bag plus want to know
where to get extreme smoothies as well.
Have to tell you have never been to a meeting or had anyone really to talk with
about it. Just glad I found a couple of sites and joined. I know another
struggle for me is emotional but I am going to find someone to talk with. My
gastric doctor just retired in November and I have not found a new doctor just
going to my primary (which is an internist). I am so ready to have some plastic
surgery because I am so unhappy with my thighs, arms (I can deal with them ok)
and big time - my breast! I never set a goal weight because I have always been
fat/obese. I am newly married (first marriage for both husband and self - no
kids for either of us but sure wouldn't mind having a couple of babies - yes I
am crazy at 40 but always my hearts desire!).
Anyway, boy did I spill part of my life story out! Guess just needed to...

WEIGH to go Donna!!!! Yee Haa for you and all of us. Just wanted to
share that the littlest of weight does may a difference. My mother
insisted on buying me a coat after Christmas (she is really, really
tired of seeing me in the very big and sloppy ones that I have) and I
got a LG. I was so excited. I haven't worn a Lg coat in I don't
know how many years, over 21 I know. I also can wear Lg shirts and
it is a wonderful feeling. You will be there soon, too. Again,

I agree, leg cramps could be from low potassium and/or dehydration. even
before the surgery I use to have to eat a banana to get some extra potassium so

2008-04-08 05:49:06

We are all afraid of the unknown Germaine. That's what makes us human. I'm
so glad that you feel supported here. I made it through my surgery just fine
and didn't really have any major complications from it. I did cry a little
bit here and there after surgery, but it was definitely just hormonal. I never
once felt like I wished I hadn't taken this step and am still never sorry.
Just make sure that you do whatever your doctors tell you actually do it. I
never once cut corners or cheated on anything and I feel that is part of why I
have had such success. I feel very lucky that I haven't had any problems. I do
have a low sugar issue right now, but it could subside. I also have passed
out a couple of times because my blood pressure is lower and when I take a
really hot shower it makes all my blood vessels expand and my blood pressure
can't
be supported...so that is an easy fix. add more salt into my diet, don't
take such long, hot showers (that kind of stinks though, i love a good shower)
and listen to the signs my body is giving me. I usually can tell if my blood
pressure is dropping and I'm going to pass out. I know it is going to be great
for you!

Obesity Help Friends

2008-04-08 02:32:15

I would like to ask anyone out there that would be my friend on
Obesity Help to please add me as a friend. My user name on OH is
kkeen, my email is keens@....
I have been at a standstill on my weight lost and I am committed to
getting back on track. I have about 40-45 more pounds to lose, but my
first goal is to lose 15. This will put me at 100 lbs down. I need
all the support that I can get. I have eaten things that I am not
supposed to, which in turn has stopped my weight loss. It is EVERY
BIT MY FAULT and I know this. I am going to overcome it and continue
with my journey. I don't want to screw it up.
Thanks in advance for anyone being my friend and for any prayers that
I receive.
Happy New Year! Let's make this the best one EVER!!!!

1ST DAY OF NEW YEAR

2008-04-07 10:04:17

Well Dear Group today is the first day of are New Year 2007. I am
praying that this be the best year ever for all of us. We are going to
be the "BIGGEST LOSERS" ever. We just all need to remember to stay
strong and positive. We are all beautiful people and we must always
remember to love ourselves and have faith in God. He can bring us
through anything. I weighed at the hospital and thought I lost 46
pounds but I really think it was 34 pounds because I weighed on my own
scales and they have been less than a pound different than in Dr. Dyers
office. So I think the hospital needs to recalibrate their old scales.
I am still happy though because those 34 pounds are noticeable. I was

I have been seeing this previews all weekend. I hope I don't forget this. I need to give myself a reminder. I myself don't like fluffy people being made fun of. It just runs all over me to no end.

I hope everybody's New Year has started out Great. I can't believe that another year is gone.

Fran,
I think that you put it perfectly how we all feel about each other. We only
become stronger together. I don't think any of us could have done this without
each other. You are going to do fine and yo
